And this one should look like this ... ![]() I'll talk with Jacqui and Urxie to see why the board is automatically reducing the Avatar images in size to correct it. Otherwise, I can sharpen any of the ones seen here. I can reduce, sharpen, lighten, add or take away hue, add contrast and more to any image. Wolf sent me a HUGE wolf head. When I first reduced it, it looked like a black blob but I applied all the features I mentioned above and gave him three results to choose from. Goodness. Don't worry, Timeless. Jacqui or Urxie will fix it so that your avatar can be 100 by 100 or more as some of the above are. Talk with you later.

Re-Sizing Personal Photographs
After version 7.0, ezboard made the personal profiles and control center web-standards compliant, using XHTML. This means that the old method of adding size attributes to a personal photo ( height=100 width=100) will no longer work in profiles. It does still work on boards, in posts, for now. Eventually the boards will also be updated to XHTML. In the future, when the communities get the XHTML redo, admins will be able to set the specific size they want of EVERY personal photo on their boards. So, you want your personal photo larger than 60x60, what can you do? Here are the options: Free Users Size attributes will no longer work in the personal photo field (in the profile) for any user, including ezsupporters. If you have size attributes in your personal photo field, the image will be a red X in the profile. The image will still display at the desired size on your posts, if the board allows personal photos larger than 60x60. Right now it's sort of a catch 22. If your personal photo is 100x100, for example, you need to use size attributes to make it show at 100x100 on boards. However, if you do use size attributes, it will show as a red x in the profile. So you can have it big on the board and a red X in the profile, or have it small(60x60) on the board and it shows in the profile(at 60x60). Ezsupporters Same as above, BUT Ezsupporters can hide the personal photo in the profile if they are using custom profile skins, they can add #personalphoto{display:none} where the personal photo is listed in the style sheet. That way you could hide the image in your profile to avoid the red X, and keep the size attributes for when you post. Along the same lines, you can use this personal photo CSS class to resize your photo to whatever you want. There are basically 4 options: 1.you can have it big on the board (resized the old way) and a red X in the profile (with an option to display the image in another part of the profile at it's true size, but the red X will still be there in the profile too) 2.you can have it show at 60x60 on the board and it shows in the profile at 60x60. 3.you can have it big on the board (resized the old way) and no personal photo displayed in profile. 4.you can have it big on the board (resized the old way) and it won't show in the profile in the usual spot, but it can show in another area of the profile at its true size. 3 and 4 are only for ezsupporters Let's say you want to do #4, the most complicated option (but also best looking) ok so leave the size attributes the way you had them, height=x width=x that should make the image be the size you want it to be inside posts. now to get rid of the icky red x, put this into the CSS box in your edit profile : #personalphoto{display:none} copy and paste that in the Custom CSS Profile Skin box. save changes. ok now view your profile and the red x should be gone. (you will still get the red x in your control center, on the 'my account' page, but there is no getting around that) so now you have to deide where you want to add that picture back into your profile. You can use HTML to ad an image in any of the fields like 'hobbies'. <img src=url_of_image> that goes in whatever field you choose to put it in. NOTE: remember some boards have personal photos limited to 60x60, if they do then your photo will show at that size even if you do use one of these methods. These resizing methods will only be effective on boards with no size limits. Source - Ezboard Help Topics |

Re: Testing Avatars For Timeless | #11 | ||

Ok Angel, here's the abridged version:
Normally I would just have gone ahead and made the necessary adjustments but in this case there are choices to be made by Timeless. By default, all Custom Photographs are now sized at 60 x 60 pixels regardless of whether the 'restrict picture size to 60 x 60px' control is checked or unchecked. If the control is unchecked, the size of an individual poster's Custom Photograph may be increased by adding the desired size attributes (height x width) to the source filename of the image in the poster's Edit Profile panel. However... doing this will cause the poster's photo in their profile to be replaced with a red 'x', which they may not like. But... if the poster is an Ezsupporter, we can get round this by disabling the existing photograph in their profile altogether and putting a new one, at the amended size, somewhere else in their profile. Even having performed this adjustment, the poster's photo in their 'My Account' page will be replaced by a red 'x' and even though only they will see that page, having a red 'x' in it might not be acceptable. Also, having made the adjustment for Timeless, other posters will notice that Timeless has a larger than normal photo and will adjust their own photographs to what might be an unacceptable size to you as the board owner. I really need guidance from both of you on this before I go ahead. |
